Supporting Youth Mental Health this exam season
Level 1 - Awareness in First Aid for Mental Health Award
You’ll learn how to:
- Notice when a young person might be struggling.
- Start supportive, non-judgemental conversations with a young person.
- Implement practical ways to support a young person.
- Look after your own wellbeing as a parent or carer.
Due to popular demand, we are delivering one online course and two in-person courses this year.
Online
Our online course is being delivered on 29th April 2026 0900 - 1300. You will then need to return in the afternoon for a 20 minute 1-2-1 with the instructor to achieve your qualification.
In person
We are running two in-person courses this year due to popular demand. On 6th May 2026 we are running a course from 0900 - 1300 and then another from 1400 - 1800, both at our venue in Tunbridge Wells.
Assessment
Both online and in-person courses require you to complete a short assessment if you want to achieve the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental health (Ofqual regulated).

Entry requirements
Learners must be 18 years or older to attend this course. You will be required to confirm your identify and age using a form of photographic identification such as a driving license, passport, or similar (this is a requirment of our regulator).
You do not need any prior knowledge of first aid, or mental health before starting this course.
Qualification
Upon successful completion of the course and passing of the assessment you will receive a Level 1 qualification, regulated by First Aid Awards (FAA), an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and SQA.
Your qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement.
Group bookings
If you are booking for four or more learners, please contact us in advance to discuss a group booking discount or a bespoke course for your group. We can generally accommodate up to 20 learners on online courses and 16 in person but subject to instructor availability this can be increased to accommodate larger groups.
