Silence Between Sirens - FA4MH - 26th August 2026

Thank you for booking to attend our upcoming First Aid for Mental Health session for Silence Between Sirens, online, on 26th August. 

Before you read any further, can you please click here and fill out the pre-course information form. This will help us to tailor the course to your individual needs. At the end of the form is a Microsoft Teams link that you can save to access the course.
 

Please complete the form by 24th August. If you are no longer able to attend please let me know so your place can be given to someone on the waiting list. 

Timings

The course will begin at 9am and the online delivery will finish around 2pm. We will have a break around 11am. You will then be given a 20 minute time slot between 2pm and 5pm to complete your online assessment via professional discussion. Please see below the assessment information. If you wish to reserve a time slot in advance, please contact me via return email. 

Course content

This course is based on the Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health curriculum, but it is tailored to those working in the emergency services, with a specific focus on PTSD and suicide prevention.

Pre-course learning 

To best utilise the time we have together we will focus on the more practical aspects of the curriculum during the online delivery and its relevance to the emergency services.  In advance of attending please review the signs, symptoms, and signposting for mental health conditions in the documents below and have these documents available on the day, either printed, or on an electronic device.

Assessment

To achieve the Level 2 award you will be required to complete an assessment via 1-2-1 discussion with me. This is a short list of questions, primarily multiple choice, to check your understanding of the course content.

You will also take part in a mock conversation with another person on the course to show that you can follow the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan (you will learn about this on the day). 

If you have any concerns around how you will be assessed, or you have any specific learning needs, please share this with us via the pre-course information form above. 

Please note, you will be expected to have a working camera and for this to be kept on during the online delivery and assessment.
